We are very pleased to announce our first contemporary art collaboration with renowned artist, Franco Mazzucchelli. Mazzucchelli has produced a decades-spanning, prolific body of work that extends to this day. His most well-known series A. to A. (Art to Abandon) consists of inflatable sculptures made of PVC that were at first abandoned in lakes and deserts before being left in public spaces across Italy such as squares, schools and factories. Due to natural synergy between Portofino Dry Gin and Franco Mazzucchelli with our shared passion and profound relationship with the Riviera Ligure; we invited him to explore the concept of the Portofino waterfront and play with our bottle through the use of inflatables. Depicting the 21 locally sourced botanicals in our gin, these inflatables structures pay homage to the wonderful Ligurian coastline, as they encapsulate our iconic bottle.
“We were delighted to collaborate with Franco, a pioneer in inflatable structures and installations and a lifelong admirer of our Ligurian coastline. During one of our discussions about our beloved seaside, Franco had this vision: to create a structure combining our bottles and the classic sea buoys we watched growing up from our windows. It was simply brilliant!” Ruggero Raymo Co-Founder & CEO of Portofino Dry Gin
